Son of George and Mabel Ellen (Helen) Clayworth.
Alfred was one of 17 children: Leonard (1902), Ivy (1903) Harold (1905), Frank (1907-08), Eva (1909), Edna (1910-11), Wilfred Edward (1912), Alan (1913), Ethel (1916),
Cyril George (1919), Helen (1920), Colin (1921), Marjorie (1923-1924), Ivor Francis (1924),
Geoffrey (1926) and Gladys May (1928).
In 1940 Alferd married Beatrix Carrington of 3 Watson Avenue, Mansfield, they had been married less than a year when Alfred died. Beatrix (Trixie) married William Pritchett in 1949, she was 32 and he was 61. William had served with the Sherwood Forester in WW1 and had been a POW for most of 1918.
He was baptised at Scarcliffe Church on 18th April 1915.
