Took off from Pocklington as part of a 374 aircraft raid over Aachen.
They were shot down by a night fighter at Wattignes-La-Victoire. The full crew was lost.

374 aircraft with 20 losses. A strong tail wind to the main forces arriving early and when the Pathfinders marked the target, so many aircraft were waiting that the town appeared to erupt in flames. Almost 3000 buildings were destroyed including appartment blocks, so 16828 dwellings were destroyed. The Cathedral, the Town Hall and other civic amenities were also classed as severely damaged.
