Denis Murphy was born in 1888,

He was the husband of Margaret Murphy, (born 6th June 1887) of 76, Wolfe Tone St., Cork, Ireland, they had a son Maurice born 26th Jnauary 1917,

Commencing 4th April 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week.

Military history

Sapper Denis Murphy enlisted at Cork, he served with the 66th Field Company, Royal Engineers he was found drowned in the river Trent near Nicholson's Foundry, Newark on 29th July 1915. he is buried at Newark upon Trent, Cemetery.
