Arthur Leslie Page was born in 1898 at West Bromwich, he was the son of Abraham Enoch a coal miner hewer and Elizabeth Page nee Rotton of Somesall Street, Mansfield.
His father Abraham Enoch was born in 1874, his mother Elizabeth Rotton was born in 1874 they were both born in West Bromwich, they were married in 1895 at West Bromwich, they had a further child a daughter Edith born 1899 at West Bromwich.
In the 1911 census the family are living at Allport Road, Cannock, Abraham Enoch 37 yrs is a coal miner herwer he is living withhis wife Elizabeth 37 yrs and their children, Arthur Leslie 13 yrs a junior clerk and Edith 12 yrs a scholar.
Rifleman Arthur Leslie Page enlisted at Mansfield on 17th May 1915, giving his age as 19 yrs and 180 days, he was living at 91 Somersall Street, Mansfield he was a caol miner. He was posted to 1st battalion King's Royal Rifle Coprs.
He landed in France on 14th December 1915 and died of wounds on 20th June 1916 and is buried at Aubigney Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
Mansfield Chronicle Advertiser: 06/07/1916. Tribute to Mansfield Soldier. Arthur Page was seriously wounded and had died of these wounds. A member of St John's Mission Church and a footballer of some prowess.
