Family history

Frank Bennett was born in 1891 at Linslade, Buckinghamshire he was the son of Frank an army pensioner and Louisa Bennett,née Blundell of 24 Ladybrook Lane, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

His father Franks was born in 1861 at Sutton in Ashfield, his mother Louisa Blundell was born in 1864 at Linslade, Buckinghamshire, they were married on 6th April 1885 at St Pauls Church, Clapham, they went on to have 8 children.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 7 Ladybrook Lane, Mansfield, Frank 50 yrs is an army pensioner he is living with his wife Louisa 47 yrs and their 8 children, including Archibald Douglas 22 yrs a joiner and Frank 20 yrs a colliery labourer and their 6 other children

Military history

Lance Corporal Frank Bennett enlisted at Mansfield, he served with the 1st battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he died of wounds on 15th March 1916, he is buried at Bailleul communal cemetery extension, Nord, France.

Extra information

His brother Archibald was killed whilst serving with the Australian army on 31/07/1917.
