17 May 1942 Wellington N2806/T 18 OTU RAF Bramcote. Take off on final night cross country training flight before posting to operational units. 01.25 spotted by Royal Observer Post on fire before it crashed near Chollerford, Northumberland killing all the crew. All buried at Newark Cemetery.
