Charles Joseph Brown was the son of Charles William and Sarah Brown and the brother of Edith Sarah, George William and Stanley Brown. In 1911, they lived at 129, Dame Agnes Street and in 1921 at 66, Sneinton Road (both Nottingham). Charles Joseph married Gladys M Green at Nottingham in 1933 and they lived at 39, Godfrey Street in 1939 along with their daughter Hilary. They had moved to 18, Bakerdale Road by 1941 (both Carlton, Nottingham).
