Charles Walter Gooding was the son of Arthur and Fanny Gooding and the brother of Arthur, Gertrude, William and Leonard Gooding. In 1901, they lived at 205, Great Alfred Street Central, Nottingham. In 1916, Charles married Maud Norman at Nottingham. In 1921, they lived at 49, Shrewsbury Road, Nottingham along with their daughter Gertrude. By 1939, they had moved to 18, Baden Powell Road, Sneinton, Nottingham.
