Family history

Dennis was the son of Lavinia and Lance Corporal Archibald Widdowson (4982689) 14th Bn Sherwood Foresters. They lived at 70, Upper Eldon Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. Dennis was killed in the Dakeyne Street air raid shelter on 9/5/1941 along with his mother and his sister Christina when a high explosive bomb pentrate dinto the basement shelter and exploded.

His father, Archie was killed at Anzio 11/3/1944.
