Military history

Based with the 1 Personnel Holding Unit at Innsworth, Gloucestershire. This base was a non flying base and opened in 1940 as a training centre for fitters and mechanics. Later it became a W.A.A.F training centre. Shortly after the war ended the RAF Base Accounts were moved there from York and this operation grew to become the Central Pay Office and the RAF Personnel and Training Command.
