Military history

Percy enlisted in the North Lancashire Regiment in 1941 and then transferred to the Royal Engineers. A Port Operating Company would have built and maintained ports and docks.

Percy's sister Phoebe Ellen lost her son, Lewis Thomas Mellors (born 1913) fighting with the Sherwwod Foresters in Norway on the 23rd April 1940
