Family history

Son of George Henry and Sarah Ann Draper, of 20 Thoresby Road, Mansfield Woodhouse.
Sarah Ann had married to Arthur Leonard Willis in 1908 and had two children with him, William Arthur born in 1909 but he died in 1917 and Dora Annie born in 1912.
Arthur was killed whilst serving with the Leicestershire Regiment on 28th September 1915.
She married George Henry Draper on 27th December 1919. She had two children with George, George Edward born in 1921 and Phyllis in 1925.

Military history

RAF Commands:
Based at the ORTU (Operational & Refresher Training Unit) at RAF Matching, Essex.
He was admitted dangerously ill to Haymeads EMS Hospital, Bishop Stotford on 6th March, suffering from pneumonia and pleirisy.
He died of Tuberculosis with Pleural Effusion with his father, Mr G H Draper of Mansfield Woodhouse, at his bedside.

RAF Matching near Harlow, Essex opened in 1944 for both the RAF and USAAF (American Airforce) and it closed in 1946.
