He was the son of Sidney Cheslyn Gibbs and Laura Gibbs of 61, Parkside, Nottingh83, Rolleston Drive, Lenton, Nottingham. The family had previously lived at 83 Rolleston
Drive [e.1925-34].
Served with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve at HMS Heron (Fleet Air Arm).
Buried : St. Leonard's Cemetery, Parkside, Wollaton, Nottingham.
Grave Reference : 350.
He was killed in an aircraft accident near Yeovil, Somerset (LT 27 page 23).
The Inscription on the headstone reads "In Loving Memory of my dear Wife Laura Gibbs died December 1st 1944 aged 55.
Also of Sub Lt. John Cheslyn Gibbs , Fleet Air Arm Son of above killed March 12th 1945, aged 21.
Also of Sidney Cheslyn Gibbs Husband of above died May 14th 1953 aged 70.
Cremated City of London Crematorium".
