Family history

He was the son of Nelson and Sarah Ann Binch and the brother of Raymond Mead Binch. In 1939, they lived on Flatts Lane, Calverton, Nottinghamshire. Victor Binch and Ruby Jackson were married in 1943. Ruby Binch later lived at Daybrook, Nottinghamshire.

Military history

Lancaster I NG170 took off 1852 3 Mar 1945 from Balderton to bomb the Dortmund-Ems Kanal near Ladbergen. Shot down by a night-fighter and crashed at Altenberge. There were four fatalities: Binch + James Malcolmson Johnston, Patrick John Buckman,& Peter Donald Ross-Ross. Three crew members survived to become POWs: P Mahon, Gerald Arthur Jeans & John B Gaylard.
