His sister Joyce born in 1925.
He married Hilda Victoria Stapleton on 31st July 1937 at St Mary of The Purification, Blidworth. They were both living at 35 Council Houses, Rainworth. By 1939 they had moved to 77 Laurel Avenue, Mansfield and their son, Bruce Allen, was born in 1942.

Military history

Although he is listed on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial (face 24) he is listed as dying in Italy.

Opened in 1942 in a convereted Linen mill/warehouse at Sforzacosta (Macerata)
Built to hold upto 10,000 prisoners it had very poor sanitation with only 12 toilets and 3 taps.
