He was the sn of Mr and Mrs. W. Colton, 13, Spring-field-road, Retford. Fusilier Colton's last visit to his home was after his marriage to Lilian Clarke of Tonbridge, Kent, on May 10th 1944. He had been granted seven days' leave.
He had a younger brother, Albert Colton, who is 18, had just joined the Army, and was training in this country when Fusilier Colton was killed.
