Military history

He served with Nottingham (Scout) Squadron 412th ATC before enlistment.

He was the flight engineer aboard Lancaster III LM453 which took off 1730 31 July 1944 to attack a railway tunnel that was being used as a flying-bomb storage facility. Crashed 2030 31 July 1944 apx 1 km S of Puisieuix (Marne) some 10 km SE of Seine. No survivors. Fatalities: Mose;ey + Charles Edward Michael Worner (P), John Stuart Anderson (AG), John Kerfoot (AG), Robert Francis McKinney (AB), THomas John Peacore (N) & William David Phillips (WO).
