Son of Joseph and Mabel Bull, of 26 Dale Street,Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
In 1921 the family were living at 116 Westfield Lane, Mansfield.
Siblings: Mabel (1910), John W (1917-1918) and Leslie (1922).

Military history

Held in Italian prisoner of war camp 70 at Monte Urano near the Adriatic Coast. Probably captured in North Africa. Once the Allied Forces had invaded Italy the Germans moved the prisoners held in Italy to camps in Germany. Joseph was moved to Stalag 4D/Z near Leipzig. This was a camp for prisoners who were being considered for repatiration and possibly many were unwell.
