Youngest son of Alfred Muskett Kindred and Effie Hesse Kindred, of 10 First Avenue, Rainworth, Nottinghamshire.
Siblings: Alfred Raymond Horatio (1901), Florence Mildred (1904), George Sidney (1906), Leonard Reginald (1909) and Maud Effie (1911).
In 1921 the family lived at 18 Albert Street, Mansfield. Alfred snr and George worked at Ruffoerd Colliery and Alfred Raymond, known as Raymond, worked at Crown Farm Colliery.
Eric was baptised at St Marks Church, Mansfield on 17th September 1916.
