Boeing Stearman 07151 (MSN 75-6755) Solo night training flight , aircraft struck trees near the Grosse Ile airbase and dove into the Thorofare Canal , which separates Grosse Ile main islands in the Detroit River, Michigan instantly killing the pilot.
