He was the son of John Bellamy Brailsford and Lizzie Brailsford and the brother of Cecil, Lois and Ernest Brailsford. In 1911, they lived on Kirklington Road, Southell, Nottinghamshire. In 1921, he was boarding in Gladstone Cottages, Pilsley, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.; husband of Emily Irene Powell and Harold Brailsford were married at Hereford in 1930 and their daughter Anne was born at Bournemouth in 1936. They lived at Bridport, Dorset.
