Halifax II HR798 TL-R took off 18.17 from Graveley and was returning from bombing marshalling yards and railway installations at Cannes, which was on the main coastal route to Italy. It was shot down by a night fighter and crashed near Lisieux. Button was the only crew member killed. Four were taken prisoner and two became evaders (LT 27 page 19):
