He was the navigator aboard Halifax V DG252 which took off from Tempsford on Operation Catarrh 14 / Leek 9 setting course for the DZs near Arnhem in Holland. These 138 Sqdn targets were actually manned by the Germans. Five fatalities: Brown + R Pennington Wilkin, GA Berwick, H Burke and A Hughes.
