Family history

Son of Alfred William and Ada Beatrice Lillian Turner of the Fox and Crown, Dalestorth Road, Sutton in Ashfield.
Alfred died in 1937 and Ada had died in 1933.
Siblings: Florence Elizbeth (1905), Frank (1918 and Marjory (1921)
After their parent's death John and Frank went to live with their oldest sister, Florence, and he husband George Johnson at 118 Rosemary Street, Mansfield.
John married Frances Daisy Ellis in 1940. In 1939 Frances lived and worked, as a barmaid, at Westfield Hotel. The Westfield Hotel was around the corner from 118 Rosemary Street. Possibly had a daughter, Chrystine Turner in October 1942.

Military history

RNPS was based at Lowestoft and they were involved in mine laying and convoy escort duties.
