Family history

Only son of Reginald and Hannah Fowlston of Appleton Street, Warsop, Nottinghamshire. Married Irene Ethel Sanders in early 1940 and their daughter, Sandra, was born late 1942. She would have been under 1 year old when her father was killed.
In his will Reginald left Irene £227 8s and their address was "Wyndall" Dovedale Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield. After the war Irene trained to be a nurse, qualifying in 1952.

Flew from Fiskerton.
Shot down by a nightfighter 4 miles NE of Aabenraa, Denmark during a raid on Peenemunde Experimental Station. (Operation Hydra- destruction of V2 bomb facilities)
They where one of 3 crews shot down by Oblt Hans Meisner in just 15 minutes. JA851 at 02.54 hrs, JA691 at 03.01 hrs and lastly EE117 at 03.11 hrs. Meisner was using the new "Schrage Musik" (war thunder) machine-gun.
