
Albert Harvey Iremonger
Before enlisting in the RAF in 1941, Iremonger worked as a Lincolnshire police officr serving in several towns including Louth and Skegness.
Prior to police service, Iremonger was well known in Nottingham sporting circles playing for Woodthorpe FC and Wilford Cricket Club. He was also a member of 8th (West Bridgford Co.) Boys' Brigade.

He was the son of Albert and Margaret Iremonger of West Bridgford Nottingham and husband of Mary Iremonger of Wainfleet Lincolnshire.
Iremonger was killed in a flying accident. He was piloting Oxford 1 HM 649 during a night training exercise one mile north east of Bibury, Gloucestershire and flew into the back of another Oxford (HM962) being flown by a trainee pilot named McAndrew. Both men died.
Albert Iremonger's father, also Albert, was a sporting legend in Nottingham. Widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of his time. Signing in 1905, Iremonger made 564 appearances in a 21 year career for Notts County. Betweem 1906 and 1910, he also played county cricket for Nottinghamshire. He later became a publican keeping the Cremorne in Nottingham's Meadows and later The Ferry Inn at Wilford.
