Military history

Kenneth William Harris appears to have been attached to RAF Snaith (near Goole in Yorkshire), which was where the 51 Squadron was based. Proably li;;ed as a result of an explosion in the bomb dump at RAF Snaith, Lincolnshire at 13,30 on 19th June, 1943. Bombs continued to explode for the next nine hours and eighteen airmen were later discovered to have died although only twelve bodies were subsequently discovered. Although he is not buried in Lenton chuchyard, a monument recording his death has been erected there.
