Family history

Son of Isaac Newton Daley and Rose Annie Daley.
Isaac was a career soldier. He had served in the Royal Scots in 1892 to 1911 and re-enlisted in the Sherwwod Foresters on 22/8/1914 until 14/12/1918. In 1911 he was stationed in India along with his family, Marion Annie (1897), Hebert Newton (1899), Kathleen Pretoria (1902) Henry George (1907), Edwin (1909), and Rosetta Marjory (Etta) born in India in 1911.Rose died in1917 whilst Isaac was serving with the Sherwood Foresters so the children would have been taken in by family and friends.
In 1921 John and Etta where living with George and Edith Clark at 25 Bould Street, Mansfield as their adopted children.
Isaac died on 20 th March 1935.
John married Moreen Mildred Nalty at Ootacamund, Madras, India on 9th July 1932.

Military history

The Suffolk Regimant had served in India from 1922 until 1927 when they went to Shanghi before returning to India in 1929. So persumably John had followed in his father's footsteps and had enlisted in the Army.
