Regimental Diary entry 29 March 1943 ;

15:10 : A Coy with 9 Pl as advance guard along a track and at 185708 was ambushed. Casualties five killed, 10 wounded. 7 Pl attempted to left flak the enemy but were fired on from the right. 8 Pl attacked from the right and suceeded to clear the trees to the right of the track. The terrain was very thick bush and wood making observation of the enemy impossible and progress very slow. No 7 and 8 Pl s were held up by numerous enemy M.G posns. B coy attack on the left flank to assist A coy but were unfortunately delayed by the thick udergrowth.
