He was the only son of Ernest and Edith Griffiths of 35 Alma Road Retford.

Military history

He died of injuries received in road accident which occurred on Monday, February 15th 1943, (newspaper article states 15th February of accident and death, however CWGC states 1st February of death).

This accident happened in the south of England.Kenneth Griffiths would have had his 22nd birthday on May 11th 1943.

He was a member of the 8th (Territorial) Batt. Sherwood Foresters when war broke out, and was recently transferred to the Green Howards.

The funeral took place at Retford Cemetery on Saturday, Feb. 20th 1943.
The Rev. L. Ashcroft (Vicar of St. Saviour's Church) conducted the service.

The Rifle Brigade provided a bugler and escort, and the " Last Post" was sounded after the committal.
