Sibling Joyce Elizabeth born in 1910.
He married Ivy Phillips in Mansfield in 1940 and their son Philip G Tatley was born in the spring of 1942 so he was under one when his father died.
In 1939 Hubert and Ivy were both living at 35 Roman Bank Skegness in the household of Bert Wooley the owner of the grocery shop. Ivy was working as a draper shop assistant she was originally from West Bromwich.

Took off from Waddington at 18:15 hrs on the 20th December 1942 on their return they collided with Lancaster bomber (W4259) from 44 Sqd. Both aircraft falling out of control onto Canwick Road, Bracebridge Heath south of Lincoln with the loss of both crews.
