Mr & Mrs G Andrews of 3 Lord Street, Mansfield have received the sad news that their youngest son, Lance Sargeant Thomas Henry Andrews was reported killed at sea on August 17th 1942. News was first received from his own captain reporting his death. L/Sgt Andrews after leaving High Oakham School was employed by Glapwell Colliery. He enlisted at the early age of 17 and spent most of his time in India before going to the Middle East.
Mr & Mrs Andrews have a son L/Cpl R Andrews in the forces. L/Sgt Andrews leaves his father, mother two brothers and two sisters to mourn his loss. He had not been home for 7 years.
