The many friends of Police War Reserve James Wood of the Mansfield Police Force will deeply regret to hear of the loss of his son Sub-Lieut James Harold Wood of the Fleet Air Arm. Sub-Lieut Wood who was the only son of Mr & Mrs wood of 25 Layton Avenue Mansfield lost his life in an accident a few days ago.

Sub-Leiut James H Wood of the Fleet Air Arm only son of Police Sgt and Mrs Wood of Layton Avenue, Mansfield was laid to rest at a Scottish base with full naval honours. Sgt Wood attended the funeral and six of the deceased's chums acted as bearers.
