Sergeant P J Taylor, Sergeant E R Fremlin (RNZAF): killed; aircraft accident, Defiant T3955,

The plane crashed after Peter lost control in bad weather. He and his air gunner, Erle Fremlin, baled but they were too low for the parachutes to deploy.
256 squadron was based at RAF Squires Gate, Blackpool, Lancashire. The squadron were based there to provide protection for the nearby Vickers Aircraft factory and Liverpool Docks.

Erle who was from New Zealand was also buried in Nottingham Road cemetery.
