Painter & Decorator. In 1921 he was working for John Morley of 45 Dallas Street, Mansfield and later for Messrs J Hutchinson. He was also a special constable.

Family history

Son of John William and Anne Eliza Robinson, of 16 Meadow Avenue,Mansfield. By 1939 they had retired to Mabelthorpe.
Siblings: Kate Muriel (1898), Walter (1899) and Albert Hugh (1910). In 1939 Albert Hugh was living with George and Hilda at 33 Norbury Drive.
George married Hilda May Wright of Edwinstowe in 1930. George left Hilda £654 5s in his will.

Military history

Mansfield Chronicle Advertiser: 31/1/1941: Aircraftman's death took place in RAF hospital last Saturday of Aircraftman George W Robinson. The deceased leaves a widow. The son of Mr & Mrs J Robinson who now live in Mabelthorpe. Prior to joining the RAF, Mr Robinson worked for Messrs J Hutchinson and was a special constable.
It is only a few weeks since he joined up for service and he had an attack of meningitis.

The funeral of Aircraftman George W Robinson of 33 Norbury Drive, Mansfield whose sudden death whilst on service with the RAF which was reported in our last issue, took place at the Bethal Methodist Chapel Nottingham Road on Thursday last week.
