Blenheim R3661 failed to return after Armed Recce operation to Vlissingen, Zeeland. Shot down by a Messerschmitt Bf 109E piloted by Fw Georg Kiening I/JG54 (KIA 30/6/41) came down at Klemskerke into the mouth of the Scheldt River, Belgium.
Sgt George Exton - Son of George Kent and Susanna Emilie Exton of Gosport, Hampshire killed. Body was washed ashore; he was buried 14/08/1940 in Belgium. Reburied at Adegem Canadian War Cemetery, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
