Terence was born in 1939 (reg OND), the son of John Herbert and Rebecca Hopewell (née Chambers) who were married in 1939.

At the time the England & Wales Register was compiled later that year the family was living at 13 Curtis Street, Nottingham.

Terence and his parents died at 33, Hutton Street, Sneinton, on 15 January 1941 in a bombing raid on the city. He was 17 months old.
