Family history

Richard Woodhouse Fellows was born in 1887 at Beeston, Nottingham, he was the son of George, a banker, and Emma Fellows née Pulteney and the brother of George, Dorothy, Violet, John and Sylvia Fellows.

His father George was born in 1845 at Beeston, his mother Emma Margaret Pulteney was born in 1851 at Netherbury, Dorset, they were married on 7th Febuary 1872 at St Peters Church, Pimlico, London, the went on to have 8 children.

In 1891, they lived at 3, Beeston Fields Drive, Beeston, Nottingham along with eight servants.

Military history

Lieutenant Richard Woodhouse Fellows enlisted on 17th March 1913 at Armoury House, Finsbury, he was 25 years and 11 months old, he was an architects assistant,he was living at 27 Westminster Mansions, London. he originally served as a Lance Corporal (service number 1470) with the 18th (Service) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (Public Schools).

He later received a commission as a Temporary Lieutenant in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment (The Sherwood Foresters), specifically attached to the 2nd Battalion. 14th attached 2nd Bn

He was killed in action on 15th September 1916 and is buried at Guards Cemetery, Lesboeufs, France. g rave Reference: III R 2
