Family history

Walter Walker Saywell was born on 4th December 1887 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late Edward Isaac Saywell a chartered accountant and the late Elizabeth Saywell née Bennett of Nottingham.

His father Edward Isacc was born in 1861 at Nottingham he died in 1916 aged 55 yrs his mother Elizabeth Bennet was born in 1863 at Colsterworth, Lincolnshire, she died in 1911 aged 49 yrs, they were married on 15th February 1883 at St Matthews Church, Nottingham, they had , they had 3 children,

in 1901 the family lived at 60 Park Road, Nottingham.

In the 1911 census the family were still living at 60 Park Road, Nottingham, Edmund Isaac Saywell 50 yrs a widower and chartered accontant is living with his children, Edward Page 26 yrs a ratings surveyor, Leonard William 24 yrs a student and Walter Walker 23 yrs a secreatry.

Walter Walker departed from Livrpool in March 1913, he was 25 yrs of age his destination was Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Private Walter Walker Saywell enlisted on 6th October 1915 at Listowel, Ontario, Canada giving his date of birth as 4th December 1887, giving his age as 27 yrs and 10 months old, he is a cheesmaker, his next of kin is his father Edward Isaac Saywell of Wheeler Gate , Nottingham,

He served with 4th Bn (Commanding M.G. Corps) Canadian Forces, he died on 17th April 1919 and is buried at Cement House, Cemetery, Belgium.
