Family history

Albert Rogers was born in 1898 at Nottingham he was the surviving son of Albert Henry a frame work knitter and Isabella Rogers née Butler of Sneinton, Nottingham.

His father Albert Henry was born in 1872 at Nottingham, his mother Isabella Butler was born in 1872 at Nottingham they were married on 24th December 1892 at St Ann' parish church, Nottingham they had 2 children, sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood. .

In the 1911 census the family lived at 20, Wesrwood Road, Colwick Road, Nottingham Albert Henry 39 yrs is a frame wrk knitter he is living with his wife Isabella 39 yrs and their son Albert 13 yrs a scholar.

Military history

Private Albert Rogers enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2/6th battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 24th March 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
