He was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (died 1905) Osborne and the brother of Clara, Annie Helen, Edward, Frank and William Osborne. He was the husband of Maud Emily Osborne and the father of May Emily Elizabeth and John Edward Osborne. The family lived together at 33, Lomas Street, St Ann's Nottingham in 1901 and 1911.
