Family history

Francis John Patrick Brady was born in 1895 at Sneinton and the son of Francis a general labourer and Fanny Brady (née Twist).

His father was born in 1872 at Nottingham, his mother in 1870 in Leicestershire. Married in 1889 in Nottingham, they had four children - Terence b.1893, Francis John Patrick b.1895, Ernest b1910 and Joseph Vincent b.1911

In 1901 they lived at 12 Finch Street Nottingham.

Francis married Eliza Person born 11th May 1897 at Nottingham in 1914, they lived at 12 Beaument Street, Sneinton they had a daughter Gladys May born 10th November 1914, she dies on 20th January 1918.

Commencing 26th March 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence.

Military history

Francis John Patrick Brady, enlisted at Nottingham he served with the 2nd battalionSherwood Foresters Regiment, he landed in France on 26th January 1915. He died of wounds at No 4 Stationary Hospital and is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery Grave Reference: XI A 8

Extra information

His elder brother Terence served with 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters and was killed in action on 2nd December 1916. He is buried in Railway Dugout Burial Ground.
