He was the husband of Ellen Smith of 25 Trent Lane, Nottingham.
Private Frederick Smith enlisted at Nottingham, Previously 6834 Notts & Derby Regiment he was killed in action on 1st July 1917, he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
He qualified for the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
