Family history

Frank Willoughby (junior) was born on 5th April 1885 at Nottingham, he was the son of Frank Willoughby (senior) and Mary Willoughby née Brearley of 217 Cameron Street, Pawtucket Rhode Island, U.S.A.

His father was born in 1863 at Nottingham, his mother Mary Jane Brearley was born in 1867 at Ockbrook they were married on 28th December 1884 at All Saints Church, Nottingham, they had 2 further children, Clara born 1899 and Gertrude born 1901.

In 1901 they lived at 10 Waterloo Terrace Gadd Street Nottingham.

The family emigrated in 1910 and lived at Rhode Island, United States of America.

Military history

Private Frank Willoughby enlisted on 17th September 1917 at Montreal, Canada he gave his address as 170 Chaplin Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, U.S.A. his age as 32 yrs he was single and was a lace worker, his next of kin was his father Frank of the same address. he was posted to the 13th battalion Canadian Infantry.

He was killed in action on 8th August 1918 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, France.
