Thomas Arthur Brown was born in 1891 at Nottingham, he was the son of Arthur Henry Redgate Brown a warehouseman and Annie Rosella Brown née Frear of 9 Milk Street Nottingham.

His father Arthur was born in 1865 and his mother Annie Rosella Frear was born in 1865 both were born in Nottingham, they were married on 1st March 1884 at St Marks Church, Nottingham, they went on to have 7 Children.

In the 1901 census the famil were living at 21 Milk Street, Nottingham.

Prior to the outbreak of the 'Great War' Thomas Arthur emigrated to Australia

Military history

Private Thomas Arthur Brown enlisted in Australia, he served with the 28th battalion Australian Infantry, he died on 8th November 1916 and is buried at Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L-Abby, France
