William Meller was born in 1888 at Notingham he was the husband of Harriett Mellor (later Evans) née Inger born 1st November 1882 at Leeds they were married in 1909 at Nottingham they had a daughter Mary Mellor born 1910 Nottingham.

In the 1911 census they lived at 7 Camden Street William 25 yrs was a lace dressr, he is living with his wife Mary Mellor 28 yrs and their daughter Mary 1 year old, also living with them is Mary Mellor 16 yrs a lace dressser.

The family later lived at Royal Oak Hill Sneinton, Nottingham

Military history

Private William Meller was bon in 1888 at Nottingham, he served with the 10th battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 4th October 1917 having no known grave his name is commmorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial Panel 108 to 111.
