Jess Palfreyman was born in 1888 at Normanton, Derbyshire he was the brother of Mrs. Elizabeth Brummitt, of 3, Storer Terrace, Storer St., Nottingham.
In the 1911 census he had joined the Army, he was in India with his regiment, 1st battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he was 23 yrs old.
His pension record cards shows his next of kin as his married sister Mrs. Elizabeth Brummitt, of 3, Storer Terrace, Storer St., Nottingham, his uncle and aunt were Thomas and Alice Bolstridge
Lance Corporal Jess Palfreyman enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Normanton he served with the 2nd battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 25th September 1915, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memroial.
