Family History
He was the son of John and Mary Ware. In 1911 they lived at 3 Flewitt Street Alfred Street South and later at 26 Cathcart Street (both St Ann's Nottingham).
Military History
Ware enlisted in Nottingham in the Northumberland Fusiliers (T/61803) before being posted to the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. The German field army attempted to take the dry land around Nieuport and the town itself, putting down a heavy artillery barrage and causing severe casualties. Ware was killed in action, but his body was never recovered. His name was commemorated on the Nieuport Memorial.
