Alfred Morrison was born in 1885 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late Robert William a night watchman and the late Sarah Ann Morrison née Neep .
His father Robert William was born in 1841 at Folkstone, Kent he died on 9th October 1889 aged 48 yrs (he drowned in the river Soar ) his mother Sarah Ann Neep was born in 1842 at Terrington, Norfolk, she died in 1910 at Nottingham she was 68 yrs of age, they were married on 6th February 1864 at Rosedale, Yorkshire, they went on to have 11 children.
Alfred was the husband of Edith Louisa Plumtree (born 5th February 1885) they were married on 21st July 1910 at St Ann's Church, Nottingham
In 1911 they lived at 74 Broad Oak Street St Ann's Nottingham. Alfred 26 yrs is a salesman for a wollen draper he is living with his wife Edith Louia 26 yrs
Commencing 18th November 1918 his widow was awarded a pensionof 13 shillings and 9 pence a week at this time she was living at 83 Lyndhurst Road, Nottingham.
Private Alfred Morrison, enlisted on 9th December 1915, giving his address as 66 Hungerhill Road, Nottingham giving his age as 31 yrs and 6 months he was a wollen salesman, he was posted to the reserves. Mobilised for war on 7th June 1916 at Derby he was posted to the North Staffordshire Regiment He landed at Boulogne on 10th October 1916 and was posted to the 2/6th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 24th March 1918. he is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
