Francis Edward Comery was born in 1887 at Nottingham, he was the son of Francis a machine fitter and Eliza Comery née Wilkinson of Nottingham.
His father Francis was born in 1854 at Nottingham, his mother Eliza Wilkinson was born in 1859 at Nottingham, they were married in 1884 at Nottingham, they went on to have 4 children.
In the 1911 census his parents and siblings are living at 25 Richmond Avenue, Nottingham, Francis 56 yrs is a machine fitter he is living with his wife Eliza 52 yrs and their children, Catherine 32 yrs a lace finisher, Florence May 25 yrs a lace mender and Winifrid Nellie 19 yrs a lace finisher.
He was the husband of Harriett Beale ( born 17th October 1886 Carlton,) they were married on 11th March 1911 at St Bartholomews Church, Nottingham, they lived at 47 Ball Street, Nottingham, they had two children Francis Edmund born 20th August 1911 and Kathleen Freda born 13th October 1916.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 47 Ball Street Nottingham. Francis Edward 24 yrs is a house painter and decorator, he is living with his wife Harriett 24 yrs.
Commencing 21st April 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 24 shiilings and 5 pence a week.
Sapper Francis Edmund Comery enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the Works office, Sarigol Royal Engineers, he died on 7th October 1918 of malaria and pneumonia at Salonika, he is buried Mikra British Cemetery, Kalamaria Greece
